They should be better once the plants settle in you may want to consider getting a lotus, and letting a few leaves grow to the surface, they're lovely plants.

Which one would you suggest,they are stunning,a bit pricey,but my LFS have a few different ones in stock.

I want something that stands out and would be my Centerpiece fish or pair/3

I dont know much about them.
My Ph is 6.4 and i try to keep the water a bit tea coloured with Tannins,by using Leaves,and Bogwood.

1m 3f configuration of Apistogramma cacatuoides or A. agasizzii would work well: they are usually the cheapest and possibly the least picky of the lot.

Had a look at them in 2 of my LFS,stunning but both shops only had lots of Males.

Try ebay they sell them as pairs or trios

Yes, there are usually a few on eBay, but also try aquarist classifieds and your local club, those are quite popular fish for people to breed.

Some of the plants are starting to grow.
Fish are starting to use more of the tank.

That looks much better.. I think the fish would be happier still if half or more of the surface was covered in floaters
