Do you do water changes?

I keep crystals and cut back a lot on water changes as sounds strange but though used aged / dechlorinated . same temp water suspect 20 percent a month was to much but others might disagree?

About 10-20% once a week, it's just such a small tank. I also dose potassium chloride once a week. I'd like to keep crystal shrimp, I've kept blue bolts in there before but they fizzled out eventually.
