Would a 15 gallon be too small for sword tails and platies? It will have two ten gallon filters on it and hopefully planted. Not sure what I am going to use as a clean up crew.

What are the dimensions of the tank?

I'm guessing it's about 24"x12"x12"; does that sound about right?

Platies would be okay, but swordtails get a bit big.

Don't forget that if you have male and females, you'll end up with a lot of fry...

Okay, thanks for the information.

well IMO i wouldnt put platies in regardless, but notice i put in my own opnion.....

I know platies can get a decent size but I really do not know what else to put in this tank. I am already going to divide my 10 gallon and put two betta's in it. I could divide this tank and do the same but I rather have different fish in each tank. Only other thing I would be willing to get is a fancy goldfish but he/she would out grown that tank easily within the first year and I can't up grade the tank anytime soon. My boyfriend seemed to be interested in a fresh water puffer but they just seem like they would be a lot of work.

There are loads of fish suitable for a tank that size.

Is your water hard or soft?
