148.6L (39.2 gallon) aquarium journal

Driftwood doesn't have to be completely submerged. I had a few pieces that stuck out of the water by a few inches. One piece had the top 6 inches out if the water. And if you don't want it out of water, you can sue a saw to cut it so it's a little bit shorter. :)
Good thinking. The tetras are swimming over and under the new piece of driftwood. It is used as another hiding spot in case they get scared. They are getting used to the new piece for now.

Thats a good camera. Your photos appear to be a little underexposed. If you fix that, you will end up with some great photos. You are on the right track.
Yeah, I tried taking good shots with it, it's the family camera that they haven't used for years. The underexposure is a bit of a problem however.
 
Added a Bacopa plant into the tank at 1pm. It is in its pot currently until it grows larger. I will keep an eye on it as always. I just did a water change today at 3pm. Bit harder than usual gravel, but worth it in the end.
