Hey everyone!

my nutrafin co2 system has been setup since about 7pm yesterday (9-02), but I still haven't seen any bubbles in the diffuser yet.

I followed the package instructions for mixing/setup. Not entirely sure where I messed up.

I do know that local water is supposedly very hard, though I don't know the specific parameters. Would I have better luck if I didn't add the "stabalizer"?

I'm off to work, so I'll check replies and such once I get back tonight. Thanks for the help everyone!

I'm suprised that you haven't seen any bubbles whatsoever...just on the off chance I would check that you haven't got any kinks in the tubing (although I would still expect to see some bubbles!).

This thread is well worth a read...you'll find that lot's of people on here use the Nutrafin units but with DIY mixtures...you'll get a much cheaper and more vigorous result. With you hardness, you should be able to do without the stabiliser.

Let us know how you get on!

you should have something by now. when you put the water in, it wasnt too hot was it? that can kill the yeast and stop it reacting.

try it again if there's still nothing, i mixed about a level teaspoon of bi-carb with a heaed teaspoon of yeast when i used a nutrafin, then the water and sugar the same as before.

i did find the sachets werent too good so maybe try with some bought yeast / bi-carb this time and see.

one last thing, i know its obviouse, but check its well ushed onto the cannisterand nothing is escaping, and that the lid is screwed on tight.

I wouldn't be overly worried about that.

did you read my post in your other thread? i would switch up and use the recipe in my post. like i mentioned i usually have bubbles within minutes. i would give it a go and switch up to diy or redo your mixture.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

The water wasn't *hot* per say... it said to add lukewarm, though I'm not entirely sure how to sense "lukewarm" by hand. must be magical.

danksi sent me the link to the topic that nodding_dino sent me in this thread, so it looks like i'll be trying that out. i was just hoping that the included packets wouldn't be *entirely* hopeless as they seem to be for others. hehe.

thanks again for all the replies everyone.
