That tank looks great! What fish did you decide on? It's so nice to see these evolution threads and maintenance threads. What's your fertilizer regimen? I'm remembering you have a 10g, so your lighting puts you at 3WPG, pretty nice lighting. Be careful of the dreaded BGA, I battle it with my 15g, but my 10g is very stable and has very little algae. I forget if your injecting CO2 or not?

Did you attach moss to the tree? If so, that'll look really cute when the moss grows and fills out. Like a tree with leaves. Very creative. :)

EDIT: I took out the first batch of java moss I used for the slate. The half-dead moss turned to deader-than-dead moss. Off to the trash they went. Hopefully the new batch will thrive.

mine has completely ignored that i've got cotton holding it down and just spread itself merrily around my tank. it's being sorted today, but it's quite annoying really!

the cories have been dealt with *rubs hands together* they're with a new owner now :) even my two baby panda's (awwwww)

i decided i can't be bothered with a java moss carpet at the moment! i've tried to get all of it out....miserable attempt though it was. i think in my head the evolution has moved on a few stages to something alot more basic and alot less like a jungle!

we shall see if my plan comes to fruition though. my money is on something scuppering it massively though...bloody fish

Looking good fishkiller_nomore, i like the twig idea, where did you get them from, what sort of wood id it?

Is it willow moss on the slate as well, what did you use to keep it down a hair net?

Keep up the good work mate :)

I really like this. It is a very original design and reminds me of a scene from from outside somewhere; a garden or park perhaps. The moss clearing will look brilliant when it becomes established.

Have you considered adding another shorter plant to act as a transition between the moss at the rear and the vallis? This would provide a greater illusion of depth.

The whitish rock on the left looks a little too distracting at the moment but once it get covered in algae, or overshadowed by more planting it will blend nicely.

Good job, keep it up.

If you post a close up pic of the 'twig' Im pretty sure someone at my work will be able ID it for you, although if you got it from a park it could be almost ANYTHING!

Like the look, as George says, will look cool once its filled out a bit.

Your tank looks great! I love the twigs. *runs outside to scour the back yard for twigs*

And I'm still looking for that damn oto! Are you sure there is one in there?!

I like the natural "tree" look as aposed to the resin tree you had earlier. It looks really pretty, very original. I think the new moss is going to work well for you.

As far as the oto is concerned. I bet he's in a silly place, probably the "tree."

How are you liking your creeping jenny? I ordered some and put it in my 10g, it doesn't look too bad. It's a cute plant.

I will post Cici to guard the anubias! You just try and get past my killer pomeranian. :ninja:

hey fishkiller, what is your "tree"? I am pretty new to planted tanks, and i kinda like that look.

I'll take Cici with me! After all, you'll get another pomeranian when you go home in Miami --- she won't be missed. :p

Oh, you are an evil, evil man! SHE'S JUST A BABY!!!!! :hyper:

Glad about the creeping jenny, it's doing well in my tank, very pretty. It's a nice background plant for a 10g.
