I'm not an evil, evil man!

I'm an evil, evil woman!!!

Ok, this is the part where everybody gasp in horror following this revelation.

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: THE HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was kind of :/ when you wanted to steal a pomeranian. Not really a guy thing! But, evil man just has a much better ring to it. Don't you think? Besides, us women are

Nah, we're little

Anyhoooo...

My new shipment of shrimps and plants are to be delivered tomorrow (or today, to some of you overseas). I currently have red cherries, will be adding a few more of them AND got myself a batch of blue shrimps. So basically, I've got myself some technicolor tank carpet crawlers

Also ordered anubias nana petite and rotala magenta (to break the 'green-ness' of my tank). Hopefully the anubias are in stock, there's quite a wait list on it. Will post new pics this weekend :)

Good, my petites are safe, for now... -_- No California ninja masters are going to steal my anubias or pomerian. Breathing sigh of relief.

You'll like rotata macrandra, it is a very nice plant. A little light demanding, especially to retain that bright red color. My older plant faded a bit, but it's still a lovely contrast, especially with hygro difformis or myriophyllum. I have new ones now that I absolutely adore, so much so, that I wasn't willing to risk them in my 15g's algae blackout, so I moved them, along with the glosso to the 10g. :look:

That's funny, my java moss is doing horribly as well. Apparently I am all too capable of killing the unkillable. :/ I've got some leftover java moss that has done better sitting in a ziploc than the java in my tank. The stuff in my tank looks like strings of ash. Must be our awful southern california water! That;s my excuse. Everything else looks good. Should fill out nicely

I like the whole 'tree' feature, should look cool once the moss takes hold, it'll look like leaves and twigs, I guess thats the idea! Like the stones on the right, should add a sutle bit of interest once the plants have filled out and the lawn will look cool, thats if it doesn't die! Doh :X

I love my anubias petite too, is a little gem

Keep up the good work :)

Sam

I wish my Vallis was doing as nicely as yours! What are your tank specs right now, are you dosing EI? Just curious, everyone says Vallis is good and hardy and all mine does is expand out, it wont grow above...about...6 inches...it's depressing.

That looks great! Yeah, it's funny about java moss, I can keep rotala macrandra alive and thriving, yet I can't get java moss to do as well. Go figure.

I will have to steal you anubias... :ninja:

 Maybe we should start a "Java moss killers" society or something. There's many of us out there apparently  Nooo! There shall be no anubias stealing!!! I'll put Boo-Boo (my malti-poo) on guard!!!

Just what I need, another thing to join! I definitely qualify, I have never been able to keep that stuff alive. George can make that a sub-forum in the Planted section. If we're ever all in LiveChat at the same time, we can hold meetings of the JMK Society.

Oh, I'm not afraid of a Malti-poo! I've got a Pomeranian, they're even more mean!

Yeah, I pegged you for a small dog person. Post Boo-Boo's picture in the Pet section. Love to see. Malti-poos are super cute, but not as cute as Pomeranians.

Maybe our ability to kill java moss has something to do with our ownership of small dogs. I have a chug, or a pughuahua. He's only 10 weeks old and I don't think he even weighs five pounds. He's the best! :D

That could very well be it. I never thought of it that way.

Haha and everyone says java moss is easy to grow! At least the willow and xmas moss are doing great :)

Like the fishes, flame tetra? They have a lovely colour grade from almost white on top to red underneath, very cool.

Do we get a full tank shot?

Nice one FKNM, looking great :D Like the hairgrass at the back too, breaks up the background a bit. Do you like the mirror at the back, was thinking of getting on for mine, wondered what your thoughts on mirrored backgrounds are?

Sam

EDIT - scrub that completely! You've not got a mirror there at all! Just saw the join between the two pieces of slate and thought that was the back of the tank. Stupid me! Think the vals should have been the biggest clue! You'd not have them all along the front of the tank after all! :X

FULL TANK SHOT! FULL TANK SHOT! FULL TANK SHOT!

Those fish are cool! I like, I like very much and I'm not much of a tetra fan. You can see the brown patches where the Java is dying. It's a good thing you switched moss, I don't like Java moss either :grr: , never grew well for me.

Do you not have anymore pygmy rasboras left? Well, I purchased some cherry shrimp and I am quickly learning that despite their tiny size, sparkling gouramis are voracious little buggers. No more cherry shrimp for me. :-(

The irony is that the shrimp are larger than the offending gourami and now for the kicker, the gourami is the blind one that had popeye! :grr:

Sam: that's what happens when you hang-out on TFF all day --- you start seeing things that aren't there! Get some sleep, man! Yep, those are flame tetras (or orange von rio tetras). They're pwetty! I know they're probably too big for the illusion (big tank) I'm going for, but I like them! Pictures don't do them justice, I can't capture the emerald green shimmer on their backs and eyes :p

Easter weekend over here at the moment, four day weekend! Much sleepage going to happen!

Woohoo, spot on with the tetra ID, whos the man, whos the MAN! My fish never look as good in photos as in real life either, shame really.
