mmm hello

i've got 2 dwarf gouramis: 1 male, 1 female. the female eats fine, the male won't eat and just hides... he does rip apart the plants a lot though, so maybe he's eating those.

i felt responsible for the little guy so i went out to buy him some different foods (thinking maybe he didn't like the flake food i was feeding them). i bought some bloodworms, and some catfish pellets (random 2nd choice i know, but because he spends most of the time at the bottom thought this might be a good choice).

he still won't eat, his choice, not much else i can do (or is there?) also tried feeding him cucumber incase he was vegetarian, but oh no, that wasn't good enough for him either...

so now i've got these catfish pellets that none of my fish will eat, and i'll be damned if i'm going to throw them away just because my dwarf gourami is a food critic...

so...

what is a good fish for a 65 litre fish tank (50 x 49 x 34cm) that will eat these pellets from the bottom, but will also help out cleaning the brown algae off the glass and filter?

oh yeah, and the female gourami has developed this strange blue spot near where her back fin attaches to her body, anyone know what going down there?

thank you

Try putting a stream loach inside, they can be cold or warm water and it only took one to completely clean the algae of my tank, on the rocks, plants, glass, everything (exept the fish)

Otocinclus don't eat pellets unless they are algae wafers but they are the best at cleaning up algae. Hillstream loaches require a current and cold water... You could get 3 otos and 3 corydoras catfish (these eat catfish pellets and uneaten food)
