so my mate and i went to the lfs after school as i needed food and he wanted a look
so when we get there he decides he wants a new small tank
i point out these 5-15 gallon tanks which were glass and reasonably priced
then he sees this 10 litre bowl with a little rim round the edge for a lid
£5 he said he was gona get it
so what could he put into it

if its 10 litres, nothing really, snails thats about it. no fish, its too small

no cherries would build up to fast. you wouls have loads. maybe 3 amanos.

3? shrimps virtually produce nothing, and cherries breed until a certain point then theyll stop when they think the population is suffiecient

You could house a small group of heterandria formosa in a tank that small. They would need proper filtration but the tank size would work for a few. Mine get lost in their 10 gallon even with pygmy cories as company.

and a male

The green stuff the male is facing is individual strands of java moss.

Yes they are. They have only a few fry per batch and bear them a couple per day for several days because they are too small to carry a typical livebearer drop. Native range is the southeast coastal rivers of North America. Mostly in Florida and Georgia.

IMO I would use it as a glass. LOL, there is not really that much you can in 10 litres the fliter would not really fit, the heater and everything would crowd it up a lot.

you could easily get an airdriven filter in their with a 25watt heater, ive got a 50 watt in a 13 litre tank and it takes up no space at all

Oh ok, do you ahve any pics of the tank I would love to see it.
10 litres is about 18 uk pints which is not really that much...well that was what I was thinking.

At the BLA auction in Nott's on Oct Heterandria formosa was selling for £5 a pair.

Next auction will be in Corby in March if ur looking for these tiny fish.
Can get people to post them but not many people will post this time of year, Fish48 has them.

Their is a auction in Reditich next sunday if ur able to get along, it's mainly killi and livebearers.
