hi all, I am getting a 10 gallon tank soon and have some fish in mind but I do not know how many of each to put in the aquarium. I will first fishless cycle and I know a lot of the ins and outs of that. I have not purchased the tank yet but it is the biggest size I can get.

The fish I want are:
Guppies
Endler's Livebearers
Corydoras
Ghost shrimp

Can you tell me how many of each I can put in the tank together because it will be a community tank. I have done my reasearch on these fish but do not know how many of each to put in 1 community 10 gallon tank.

Thanks

Corys aren't suitable for a ten gallon. They need at least schools of six, really depends on the kind and you weren't to specific.

So then back to the original question how many of each should I put in the aquarium? I don't think that there would be enough room for the corys but if there is, please tell...

you have enough room for this with the fish you want:
3 guppies
3 endlers
six PYGMY corys (min.)
And I would instead get six cherry shrimp but this number is unlimited

One more thing I think should be added to this is that if you get male and female guppies/endlers, you will have a population outburst. So unless you are planning to expand for more fish I would highly recommend only purchasing males. (The parents will most likely eat the fry but one or two always manage to survive. When you count for the fact that they give birth every month you see where i'm coming from)

Yes thankyou I was planning on only getting males because of this reason and also because they have more colour as well!

Forget ghost shrimp, they are insteresting to watch To say the least, of course you can still purchase them go on ahead, but I would REALLY reccomend Amano Shrimp/japonica shrimp (they have many names) they deystroy alage and make an affective member of the clean up crew

Thankyou Tyler I think I will end up going with cherry shrimp as they are easier to find in my area. I will keep the Amano shrimp in mind though.
