10 Gallon Tank Stock

Hi ive got a cycled 10 gallon tank with two dwarf gouramis and some danios can anyone suggest some good looking fish to add? Cheers

You could consider a small shoal of tetras but when you research the tetras you'd need to be looking for the small torpedo shaped bodies (like glowlights or neons) rather than the oval shaped bodies (like lemons or bleeding hearts.) They'd need to be among the smallest tetras since most shoaling tetras would need to be kept in a minimum group of 6. Find the section of TFF listing all the species and cut/paste or write down the possibilities (you can use google images to help you see more images of them.) Then comb through your list a second time looking at how big they get at maturity and whether they are aggressive etc.

Dwarf Gouramis require a matured and well planted tank with peaceful tank mates. Danios are very boisterous so not the best choice and could probably do with a larger tank anyway.

On last thing about Dwarf Gouramis, it's best to keep one male to two females. If you have 2 males (the more colourful) then they will fight when mature, especially in that sized tank, if you have one male and one female and she decides not to mate then he will harass her to the point of death.

Thanks for your replys i have one male and one female gourami and they seem to be getting on nicely, could i add serpea tetra to the tank?

for an 10 gallon tank you have to choosy about selecting a fish.you may keep either betta or can keep 4-6 danio and cory or even platy,molly but don't keep all these fishes together because then the tank will be populated..

A betta is most likely going to attack the gouramis.

Mollys prefer salt in the water and probably get too large for a 10 gallon.
