I was thinking of setting up a 10 gallon coldwater aquarium. For stocking, I was thinking of 3 American Flag Fish and 3 or 4 Red Cherry Shrimp. The filter will be an Aqueon 10 quietflow and there will be no heater at all. What do you think?

Strike that. 1 american flagfish and 5 white cloud minnows.

i would do 3 flagfish and 3 minnows with 3 cherry shrimp as i have a flagfish and he lies on the ttom all day till i got my 2nd flagfish now he is so happy

Arent minnows supposed to be in groups of 5?

white clouds will be ok and in a tank that small with no predetors they wont need safety in numbers as they wont feel threatend

Is it ok to keep flagfish singly? Maybe 1 flagfish 4 or 5 minnows and 2 or 3 cherry shrimp?

White Cloud Mountain Minnws, despite their small size, they are active little fish and need a lot of swimming space.

Really, in my honest opinion, i would not put them in a tank smaller than 15 gals / 60 litres with a tank length of at least 60cm.

Also they are a schooling fish, it might be better if they were in groups of at LEAST 8+.

They will be much happier in a such a tank and numbers, if kept in small tank and in small numbers, they are completely different fish, lethargic, slow, loss of colours, surviving but not thriving.

In fact according to Seriously Fish 10+ is recommended.

As for American / Florida Flagfish, I do not know a awful lot about hess guy tbh, think tank size would be minimum as above 15 g / 60 litres.

Ok, thanks for the input. I do not know much about any of these fish so I appreciate the info.

Would you be able to make any suggestion at all for a 10 gallon coldwater aquarium?
