    Brown algae everywhere!

Help! Brown ‘algae’ everywhere I went away for a few weeks, with my tank in good condition, and since I’ve been back (2 weeks), I have not been able to get this sudden “algae” problem under control (idk if it’s algae or not). I have done 3 50% water changes since I’ve been back, trying to suck...

    Post algae bloom steps

Hi everyone, We have a 280 litre tropical tank with Tetras, Danios, Anglefish, a Red Torpedo, zero real plants, and several rocks of varying size (whose type escapes me, but I know they produce lime). Several weeks ago we had a bad algae bloom (see before and after photos). We tried many...

A special thank you to whoever it was that shared how to make our own algae to sure my otos were fed after they cleaned the tank and would not eat anything else. ("Clean" water from the tank into a bin. Pump of liquid fertilizer, add clean/established rocks/decor, place outside in direct sunlight)

Help I’m not sure what is wrong!

I am new to fishkeeping. I’ve had zebra fish and Kuli loaches for a little over a month and I recently got 2 German blue rams and 2 snails. My zebra fish have been noticeably stressed (hanging out in a group, staying near the top of the tank) however after about a week they have started to chill...

How do I get rid of wall algae?

There's been algae on the tank walls for a while now. I can't scrub it off. I have the light on for seven hours each day. It's a planted tank. I've had algae on decor and plants too but that's been easier to wipe off. I have a snail and platies that sometimes pick at the algae. I don't want to...

White Cloudy Water Problem - likely bacteria infestation and big tank changes for all fish coming up soon.

I've been struggling for months with a white water problem in my 50 gallon tank. I posted about this when it first started, but now some developments have come along. Anyway - it's not a new tank and all the water values measure within the proper ranges but it's completely cloudy white about...

    New Corys and an update!

Hey guys! I took some tests these past weeks and have been watching my water. Why oh Why do these two tanks look so different!

Sorry this is so poorly written but we're doing a water change later today and would like at least a couple comments: The first example is 'TANK A" the second example is 'TANK B" both taken today about 4 hours after feeding - the debris you see on the ground in both tanks is mostly empty snail...

Driftwood Fungus is taking over my tank!

Hi! I have a piece of driftwood that grew driftwood fungus almost immediately about 6 weeks ago. I looked around online and was told to leave it be and it'll go away. Well, it hasn't gone away and has now appeared to spread to my plants. I also have a very thick biofilm that my 3 gardneri...

Water is cloudy then turns to green cloudy water every week!

So I’ve had my 40 gallon tank set up for about a month or two now. All the rocks and decorations were in my previous 20 gallon tank (besides one new one). I only have one goldfish in the tank at the moment. I recently removed all the gravel and ornaments to treat anchor worm for 2 weeks. I...
