Taz has turned from a HM to a CT almost over night. He managed to bite almost symmetrically. Before and after pic

Are you sure it's not from plastic plants, excessive flow, over flaring, etc,
He isn't much of a flarer and I used the pantyhose test on the decorations. I saw him bite his tail about 10 minutes ago. -.-
 
it looks like fin rot to fic u can do water change or is the tank mature or is it still cycling if it is still cycling it if probably fin rot
 
It's not finrot. THe white you see is his natural coloring. He's a tailbiter like so many bettas with lng heavy tails. How big is your tank? Does he have tankmates?

I put him in a 2.5 gallon with a hidey cave and some plants to keep him entertained. As for a tank mate, there is a small mystery snail. His tail is slowly healing. :)
 
I used bettafix and frequent water changes when my betta jumped the divider and met the crowntail next door. Within a week there was a dramatic change in the way his tail looked.
