yea the hovering around one spot and hiding is the first sign i noticed but the squared off belly is the major one

generally you shouldnt put betta's with gourami...but saying that....i have.... I seem to be lucky on the fish i choose and get very well tempered ones...all i would suggest is that if you was to do it, then make sure you have a back up tank ready incase :) and the dwarf frog could possibly...

yes i think i'll just go for it and turn it up,   2 of the tanks are in the same room,  the other one is in the dining room 15 feet away so no difference really and all have a light,   i think mikey maybe right, sounds like a big gap in calibration but..hey ho..never mind...will turn it up now...

thanks for all the replies. yes its very consistent, but its just weird how it is accurate in a different tank,i didnt want to turn it above 30c to get the 28c i want incase i come home one day and its started "working" if you understand....

I've been having temperature problems in my main community tank (100L) for a couple of months now.   The heater(150 watt) is set at 28c but the thermometer says 25c.   1st thing I did was change the heater(another 150watt)....same problem...set the new heater at 28c and still get the 25c reading...

If she's already started then personally I would leave her to it (that's just me though, alot of people do move them it just depends on how you feel). If you plan on keeping the fry then by all means try to catch them before the other fish can,  but you just don't know how many she will produce...

If it is fry it would/should be pretty obvious. They should be swimming around and if they are left in the main tank you should see them shooting off to try and hide. Without pictures or a video I wouldn't know exactly. If you are unable to get a picture/video then your best bet is to go on...
