    Planted aquarium

Its so frustrating isn't it. I got wisteria because its an easy plant that grows well and would fill 1/3 of my tank. Its not close to dying because before the old leaves get eaten by my shrimp, its already sprouting new leaves. It looks so ugly though and certainly not what I had visioned for...

    Planted aquarium

So around 6 months ago I decided to change to a planted aquarium. I have water wisteria and java fern. My java fern is doing really well but my wisteria is really struggling (transparent/dying leaves). I'm using root tabs and dosing with Seachem flourish fertiliser, yet still my plants are...

    When to vaccuum gravel

Loads of beneficial bacteria in your substrate. I do a 25% water change weekly and clean the substrate and filter every 3 weeks. Works well for me 👍

    Guppies and Betta

I've recently lost my 6 guppies from my tank 😪 so I decided to replace them with 6 more. I have a siamese fighter fish in my tank that is ridiculously chilled. Never had any issues with him before. My guppies/Corys/Betta and pleco all got along brilliant without any troubles at all. So yesterday...

    Changing substrate

I changed from gravel to sand recently and this is what worked well for me. I emptied 40% of my water (my fish are used to this). In the water id taken out, I put all my plants an ornaments, going careful to make sure I didn't remove any of the beneficial bacteria. Once my tank was cleared of...

    Water wisteria

Its a strong possibility. I did add some Java Fern on driftwood around 3/4 weeks ago. With that using up more nutrients I think its wise for me to use more fertiliser.

    Water wisteria

Hi, thanks for the reply. I use a 4.8w led light which I run for about 7/8 hours per day. I do have armano shrimp but they won't eat healthy leaves, I have a nerite snail too but again, I don't think they eat them neither. None of my fish eat plants. It grew incredibly well for about 2 months...

    Water wisteria

Hi guys, So I purchased some water wisteria, to give my tank a nice dense planted area, while being easy to maintain. I planted it in a circle around my divers helmet ornament and after a couple of months it looked amazing. The ornament was buried in bushy, bright green water wisteria. Now...

    Clear water needed?

Brilliant, appreciated. Also, I heard the carbon pads are an expensive option for the fluval over the months/years. Is there a cheaper alternative to that I could use?

    Clear water needed?

I do have micro bubbles too. I'm not sure exactly where that would go inside the filter, by the bio media or in-between the carbon pad and the sponge? Also, where could I purchase some? Thanks for the help

    Clear water needed?

The fish are fine and I have a happy tank, think its just me trying to get perfection. I see tanks that are absolute crystal clear and I'm trying to get that.
