The blue in the last picture is amazing. And no, you're not the only one without a 'proper' camera.... I haven't got a camera at all, apart from the one on my phone!
Yea it's getting better week by week :) ah as long as I'm not the only one lol

That dovii is looking awesome mate. Keep me updated with pics :good: They had one in a fish shop near me the other day I was soooo tempted but I just couldn't :fun:

Iv always been tempted on getting a dovii long term but just never had a big enough tank. My 125gal will have to do for a couple of months until I get my 8footer. I'd never consider keeping a male dovii in anything shorter than an 8ft tank. I'm gettin an 8ftx2x2... Not ideal , I'd rather an 8x3x3 for a male as they get over 2 feet in length so longer than the tank width :) ill just have to see what I can do. Hopefully the dovii will appreciate what I can offer more than he would getting flushed (as what would of happened if i didnt take it off my cousin) lol

Also it's not only the huge tank you need to consider if you fancy keeping a dovii... You also got to take into account that your not going to be able to keep any other fish with with. It's going to be a "1 fish" only tank... Or maybe a pair of dovii's

Ok so the last pic I posted of my thai silk flowerhorn was back in September and he was only just over 4 inches. He is now just a tad under 6 inches long, 3 inches deep and an inch wide... He's doing very well

Wow! Usually not a fan of flowerhorns (don't like the koks), but he is stunning! Beautiful colourations and really nice and chunky! :good:

Thank you :) I was never a fan of flowerhorn before either, mainly for the same reason. I did have 3 red dragon flowerhorns that came with my tank but they were soon rehomed as I didn't like the look of those and I didn't know enough about them at the time. Only a few months back I started reading up on flowerhorns and then came across the thai silk at Trimar aquarium. I'd never seen 1 at any LFS before and they said it was a bit rarer than the every day red dragon, blue diamonds and pearls so I had to get it. So glad I did now :)

I'd recommend 1 to anyone with a big enough tank. Although its not a fish that you should just go out and buy, you would need to do some research 1st but then you should do your research with any fish before purchase.

Beautiful Thai Silk... Is there something special that needs to be fed to the Thai Silk in order to maintain and enhance its blue color ? Or is it genetic and constant ?

Ok so i just wanted to post some pics to show everyone (or anyone that's interested lol) I couple of pics of my juvenile Thai Silk Flowerhorn. He is in a 40 gal at the moment until he grows a little then he will be going into the 125 with my Ornate Birchir. I just think he is small enough at the moment for Ornate to eat, which obviously would be a disaster

So... This was him the day i had him delivered...

And this is him now, only around 3 weeks later but i think he's looking better?? ....

What do you guys think? Still very small, I'd say nearly 2 1/2 - 3 inches maybe but hopefully should only look better as time goes on.
I'm soon getting a male and female (RED PHOENIX KING CICHLID). he will be one the left side of the tank. On the right side the tank will be dark with a wooded area with a cave and a single grumpy male hybrid vieja tuyrensis/Thai silk flowerhorn cichlid. I will also have seven giant silver dollars and 6 firemouth cichlids with houses for hiding places.

Just another quick update so you all know what's going on with the FH :)

I decided to rehome my Ornate Bichir... Still not sure if it was the right thing to do but now the FH has the tank to himself and seems even happier than he was before so that's got to be a plus. Before he used to patrol the tank but not really go near the where the Ornate was. It was like they got on but the FH had doubts because of the size difference between the 2 of them.

The way I look at it, now the FH can grow and explore the whole tank and iv got 1 less thing to worry about :)

125gal for 1 juvenile FH... He loves it lol
I'm john c. I will soon have a male and female (RED PHOENIX KING CICHLID). he grows up to a large 32 inches. on the left side of the tank it will be. Dark with a wooded area and a cave with 1 single grumpy male vieja tuyrensis/Thai silk flowerhorn cichlid. And 6 silver dollars and 5 firemouth cichlids with small houses for hiding.

That's a very handsome fish.
It won't be as handsome as my (RED PHOENIX KING CICHLID). which grows up to a large 32 inches. And is extremely extremely extremely extremely aggressive.
