(This one is (beleive it or not) a few ice-cubes in a glass of water, I shone a torch up through the bottom of the glass.)

Photographs instill different feelings into everyone. The photographer has the right to call his photographs whatever they feel suits the image they were trying to capture.

I, for one, like the name - I can see the weather relation, but also the eye of the storm is quiet, almost tranquil - Like the gun is today, however all hell would break loose when it was fired.

Intrested to know how large the barrel was, Genesis? I assume there was room for your camera lens and a flashgun to get right to the bottom of the barrel?

I too like the title of your photograph. But I am mostly interested in how you managed to light the inside of the barrel as you did. Either it was a very large barrel (I'm no expert, but howitzers were quite large if remember correctly), or you used a macro lens. Perhaps both? But again, what'd you do to light the barrel and create the colors that you did?

The first image is intriguing, though it kinda reminds me as an ultrasound / x-ray image, and thus to me losses interest. But as Guz Gun Man adequately stated, photographs instill different feelings in different people, which makes it so easy, and difficult to please the masses depending on your image. But overall, I think both are very well composed, photographed and executed. Well done.
