A single ram cichlid is fine alone, or more exactly with small shoalers.

But does that explain why she is breathing so quick? and why she swims so weird?

It could be stress related, yes.

Are any other fish showing those symptoms?

I cannot keep her in that separate tank forever, so I think I am going to go return her but I heard these ram chilid shouldn't be left alone so should I bring them both?

As eagles said, the male is OK on its own. You will never be able to add another ram to his tank, just so you know.

But does that explain why she is breathing so quick? and why she swims so weird?

Eagles posted as I was typing...agree here too, this was undoubtedly part of the issue as the severe stress causes various internal problems for fish. It is weakened so it could have picked up some health issue. I can't say she will or won't recover, and I won't guess on health issues.

We should have a closer look at the foods you are feeding them; from earlier posts there might be some issues. Can you provide the name of each food?
