My planted tank with tetra's and my true red terror, tank mates 3 filement barbs a humbug catfish few bristlenose plecs and a featherfin synodontis

Beautiful fish nellynelly, i always have a hard time telling those from the Mayan Cichlid, but lots of other folks do as well. Thanks for sharing those pics by the way. I love pics !!

Cheers. True reds the spot on the tail is of centred towards the top
Where as mayan is central to the tail. Once they mature you can certainly tell the difference. My friend who i got him from had a few mayans and trues in the same tank. Easy then to notice
 
Thanks guys. Yeah the true reds are stunning cichlids. Especially the female. If you have a pair together they look awesome
