hello,

I am slowly getting there with the plant choices for my 4' community tank. I am looking to have relatively easy to care for plants that will survive a tank moving from low tech to hi tech over the next 6 months. Lighting is currently just under 1.5WPG, CO2 will be yeast based until the birthday brings me presents! That tank is black background with black sand I am aiming to not over-complicate the tank with many different species and so far have the following in my head:

Back:
Hygrophila polysperma
Ceratopteris thalicroides
Hygrophila Difformis

some mid: wendtii

foreground: I currently have java moss growing on a large piece of bogwood and would like to add some Sagittaria dwarf

I am mid-creating some pipe-cave structure that I would like to cover with a moss too, but I'm not sure what one to go for. I have Riccia Dwarf or christmas moss in mind.

So, my questions: what would you change/add/remove and for the purpose of covering, what would you use, riccia, christmas, something else?

Ta very muckle in advance.

For covering, I'd use a nice looking moss. Christmas is good. I've not found riccia all that good at staying put.

For changes, I may add a bit of red, and maybe a texture change. Something like a Pogostemon stellata maybe instead of the water sprite or the difformis? Maybe some cyperus helferi in the mid?

The pgostemon looks lovely but my experience will probably kill it two seconds flat.

i like the cyperus helferi, has a nice grassy look to it.

question on the polysperma: i see it as both red/rose and green, is it one and the same plant just better lighting/ferts to bring out the red?
