i agree, clown loaches are fun and colorful fish. but i do like a lot of fish, especially the most colorful guppies.

While not the most colourful fish (although some do have some striking spotty markings) my favourite fish is a weather loach.
I have five, and all have their own distinct personalities. They are fun to watch at feeding time, especially if I bury food under the sand for them and they then bury half their bodies in a bid to extract it!
It's also funny to watch them dash around the tank, then just fall to the bottom with a thump and lay there motionless as if they are dead.

If I had to choose a standby i'd probably go for the Bolivian Ram, awesome looking fish when it just sits there with all of it's fins standing up.
