Hey guys,

Whats your favorite Mid Dwelling fish?

I have a 29 Gallon tank that has 6 Furcatas, 7 Guppies, and 2 Badis Badis.

Sooo, Im looking for something that doesn't get too big (No more than 3ish inches) But I don't want something too small either.

Options?

Thanks

I would up the numbers of the Furcatas just for visual effect :) And then maybe add some kind of dwarf cichlid, like a Laetacara pair - the red breasted acara is really nice - Laetacara Dorisger

Yea, Ive heard that Furcatas are schooling fish. Mine swim together sometimes but dont school. If i had about 10 do you think thatd do the trick?

Yesterday I tried to add a Gardneri Killi, only to have it chomp on a bunch of fins. So Im nervous about Killis and Cichlids.

The only thing i can think of is some Sparkling Gouramis, but my tank really does need something a bit bigger i think..

Just to double check by Furcatas you mean the rainbow fish right? If so then yeah the bigger the better, though not sure how tightly some rainbows school so loosely they can be kept as pairs or trios sometimes but more is always better.

I would not let a killifish put you off cichlids (or other killifish for that matter) it is somewhat of a gamble with some cichlids but they are so diverse you can not tar them all the same at all. I think the same can be said for killifish as well I got some clown killis today and they are great :) So tiny I can not even imagine they would be able to do anything lol.

Sparkling gourami could work and are a brilliant little fish :) especially for the upper levels - to be fair if you prefer the micro fish why not just run with that - go with a big school of galaxy rasboras and a group of dwarf moth catfish maybe or panda cories or pygmy cories or a mix of 2 or 3 of them with the sparkling gourami :)

+1 for the Galaxy Rasboras and also for the Red Breasted Acara's. They're definately on my to do list. :D

I like alot of these but Im looking specifically for something thats a little slower moving (My furcatas and Guppies zip around)

And hopefully something that is a little bigger.

Ive been looking into 6 or so Glass Catfish, (they fit my wants and they are really cool) but Ive heard they are fragile.

So something slow moving, a little larger than 2 inches, and of course peacefull

Thanks for all the responses guys!
