Ok so last night my newly set up eheim 2213 started making an annoying noise, a loud hum/buzz/vibrating noise is coming from the pump head :S Im gona shut it down later and open it up to have a look but tbh I dont really know what to look for. If it were further down id expect gravel etc but it seems to be coming from inside the pump head itself. It wasnt doing this yesterday so its not normal but it doesnt seem to want to sort itself out.

Any help will be greatly recieved.

I had a similar noise with my Aqua vital at first, it would intermittently sound like some one throwing a bag of spanners down the stairs. i gave the canister a little shake then it grumbled a little more then a fair bit of air came from the spray bar, when i happened again i just opened the canister up checked all the rubber seals were in place, filled the canister so it was full and a little over flowing with tank water, clipped it back together then connected the hoses turned it on and so far so good.
May be worth giving this a try ???
Hope all goes well.

Did the whole shaking thing when it was first set up and it was good since then, ill open t up later and poke it, if that doesnt work ill cry :)

You just have to make sure everythings in tightly (impellor etc) and that there are no air bubbles at all.

Fortunatly just by opening it, poking around and closing it again it all seems fine again :) but for future referance, how do you ensure the impellor is secured tightly etc?

Thanks :)

Just a case of pushing everything in as far as it will go, obviously being very careful with the impellor shaft (I've already broken two, although it seems to be working fine with a broken one in).

Alright thanks :) hope it does balls up again, after spending £50 doing up a second hand filter I dont want to have to scrap it :p
