Yes, It's Yet *another* Stocking Question.

Yes, hello, all; I have a stocking question. ^^; I *might* be getting a 25-gallon for 25 bucks (but not sure if the hood comes with it.... Maybe I can also get the 20-gallon for $20 bucks! ^^

Wells, thens, ANYWAYS; assuming that I will just be getting the 25-gallon (for now ); thens, will this stockings work? ^^;

Here:

- 3 mickey mouse platies,
- 3 blue platies,
- 10 neon tetras,
- 6 white cloud mountain minnows,
- 3 guppies, and
- 1 male Betta, Mr. Wimpy Fish (but *only* if things don't work out with my 10-gallon )
- And, if no male Betta, 2 or 3 female Bettas? ^^;

Will this work? ^^; Of course, all the fish will be gradually added over a few months' time, *after* it cycles but will this work? ^^;

The male Betta would *probably* be only temporarily in there. He would be added *before* any female Bettas, so *of course* there would be no killing of Bettas done. ^^;

Holy cow that was alot of smilies! The neons will need a mature tank, so probably best not to add them untill 6 months after the cycle completes. You are looking at about 29 or so inches of fish for a 25 gallon tank. It should be doable as long as you get a filter designed for a tank larger than 25 gallons and stay on top of your maintenance.

You have to watch your betta like a hawk. I would not be at all surprised if he hurts someone else, or someone else (probably the neons) hurt him. Any sign of bullying or nipping, get him his own space again.

Female bettas are very, very inclined to make hell for each other unless kept in groups of 6 or more. I wouldn't have two or three together unless you want bullying, stress and fin nipping to the extreme. Could easily lead to one (or more) becoming rather sickly.

The WCMM would prefer a cooler tank so I'd replace those and get a few more female bettas, tbh.

Agree with asaye,

Female bettas need groups of 6+ otherwise aggression is likely to occur, also you cant mix a male betta and a female betta, it doesnt matter which you add first, it wont work.

Male and female bettas should only be kept together for breeding and even then only for a minimal time then seperated.
