has anybody actually been able to achieve this ? im having troubles with my DIY yeast c02.. keeping the levels high that is... makes me want to switch to pressurized !! :( but i dont think i could go pressurized with my smaller nano tank... its not worth the money ! :)

Yeah, I achieved it with relative ease... I'm pretty sure Walt did also..

What's your recipe?
What's your diffuser?
What's your filter?
What's your tank size?

13 gallons, diffuser is a cyclone reactor, recipe 3 cups sugar 3/4 teaspoon yeast, filter is a HOB :*) hehe but i plugged a foam on the downpour to decrease the splash created by the hob... how long does your recipe last usually ? i think i have to change mine almost everyweek, even if i plugged two bottles into the same line i would still probably need to change the bottles every 1 1/2 weeks

Weekly isn't bad really... You could try using a larger bottle and adding proportionately less yeast (although more than you are now if you see what I mean) which will prolong the life of the mix, but only really to 10 days at the very max. Instead of pressurised, why not get a nutrafin kit? I have never been able to replicate the reliability and longevity of the CO2 they produce, with DIY mixes.

nutrafin kits are not available here :( i think if im going to spend a whole lot more if im going to have em shipped :) hmmm il probably change the mixture every week then..... and il start researching on pressurized tanks!!!!! :hyper:

Why not get a bigger tank that will justify the full p[ressurised set up? You know you want to :hey:

i would if i could but i cant so i wont :alien:

hehe anyways if ever im still going to get a pressurized unit because i could still use it in the future ! :hey: but research first ! im still trying to aquire a free gas tank from my friends hehehehehe

Weird, because I use 2 soda bottles, 2 cups sugar, 1tsp yeast in each and it lasts a week, and I have a HOB.

Are you sure your yeast is good?
No leaks in the tubing?

im sure it doesn't leak because bubbles come out of my bubble counter.... pseud your hob isn't blocked right ? and you reach 30ppm ?!?! amazing ! :) tell me how you do it !!! what is the size of your tank ? 2 bottles for how big a tank ?

55 gallon tank.

My HOB filter wasn't blocked but is now, but it only really prevents plants from blowing around. I fill my tank water level up really high to reduce the surface agitation of the filter outlet. I also removed the bio-wheels.

Oh, and the airstone I use creates LOTS of very tiny bubbles, which helps.

What do you use to diffuse the bubbles?

Im a 50 gallon tank...
I use (2) nutrafin difussers, and pressurized co2.
I fill up my tank pretty full like pseud does to keep the return disturbance to a minimum, but i still use my bio wheels.

i use a cyclone diffuser, kinda similar to the ones used in DIY power head diffusers, only the current inside the reactor is not that strong.... hmmm my water is pretty high up too... i have to trace this problem

That's a little weird. I'd try a new batch of yeast...
