Hi all

well after waiting for fry to pop out,i caught 2 this morning and put them in the net breeder ,there was a third but it escaped from me and i haven't found it has yet!,aren't they fast!!

Although i'm not sure which platy they have come from has yet,they both still look huge,do you think they'll have any more?

It is possible that you caught the drop in progress. If you did, there may well be more. A platy drop is usually more like 30 or 40 fry.

Just found another fry

They still look big and both staying near the bottom,still unsure if they're all done,how long would it take to drop all the fry if they still have some to come out?

The whole process is usually finished in a few hours but could go on all day.

Hmm both the females that are heavily pregnant are both sat near the bottom of the tank,orange platy appears to be gasping,the male is also hoovering close by but doesnt get to close has he gets chased away!
Now i'm wondering if my third platy a mickey mouse who didn't look very big was in fact the 'bearer',she appears quite slim now and very active,whereas before she hovered around the top of the tank for the past week...
