Going by the feedback on the seller, seems the customers was happy with it, but personally id go for one with a proper brand name so you can look in to it more on what your actually buying, ive seen great external filters in my lfs for cheaper then that.

ive had this filter for about 6 months and its very good,its keeps the water crystal clear,u might want to add to or change some of the filter media with it,all spares are available and its by sun sun they have a web site,also check out allpondsolutions they stock the full range...the only thing i would say is that its big apart from that i cant fault it,it always starts up easily after cleaning and its quiet (maybe not as silent as the ehiem but theres not much in it)i say for the flow rate and the price its fantastic

mmmmmm im still a bit picky on it really, its just the sheer size of it and additional uv and the fact i aint got much cash haha

cant really find one overall cheapish and with a large capacity, unless you can point me in another direction?

I have the more powerful one of these filters. The seller stocks all replacement parts, its made by Sunsun I asked the seller directly (basicaly a copy of the tetratec but without stickers and the price tag) its an excellent filter and well worth the money. I am so pleased with it as soon as we can afford it I am changing all my filters over to this these.

The only minus point is the instruction leaflet is lacking in info, but its not rocket science to put one together.

i also have one and never had a problem, nice and big for lots of media, you get loads with it aswell,

i have the 1400lt/h one with the uv lamp, theres a 1000lt without UV abit cheaper

This looks like a bargain. Can you turn off the UV lamp if you need to? Also can you adjust the flow at all, as this one is too big for my tank but the smallest with UV?

I wouldn't personally go for un branded filters,i use tetratec ex700 & ex1200
