Would These Pebbles Be Safe

I'm planning on creating some rock formations in my 15 gallon aquarium! After looking online at some white pebbles I went to a local garden centre and bought some Pearl white pebbles without giving it a thought if they were safe! They glitter and have hints of brown and grey running through them when put into water! I have no idea weather they'd be safe or not.

Give them a scrub in hot tap water and they should be just fine. Also, if you don't want to make your water any harder you can check wether they fizz if you put them in vinegar...

Well I decided not to risk it despite how great they'd look after doing some reading up on it! How risky is it if they did effect Ph? Thank for the response!
