I'm looking to buy a twin 54w T5 solution for my 4ft tank.

Does someone have such a thing to measure? I need both length, including end caps, and how wide it is.

Need to figure out if such a thing fully assembled will actually fit, even at an angle. Between the tank sides it is 1200mm y'see - tight !

It will fit easily. My tank is 1200mm long also, and the tubes fit with about an inch to spare eiter side, when the end caps are installed. It's about 6/8ths of an inch wide at it's widest point with end caps on, though the lamp is 5/8ths of an inch :good:

OK but I'm having trouble understanding how 1149mm tubes plus end caps fit inside 1200mm with about 250mm either end spare :crazy:

Do you have a single tube unit then? Two T5 tubes side-by-side is going to be over an inch combined by themselves...

an inch is 25mm

tube = 1149mm
End caps = 15mm (at a guess max) x2 = 30mm

1149+ 30 = 1178 leaving just under 1 inch/22mm

I looked at my 250mm a few times knowing it looked wrong too! D'oh!

Still, we measured the end caps (Hagen) at 1 inch each in a store. That said, the tubes fit inside the caps, which may be where the space is gained back.

yea it will be.

the most space the holders will take up are 15mm max
