what do i do to feed them some veg
and what sort of veg

Peas are good for a start. Just take a couple of frozen peas, boil them lightly, take off the shell and crush them a little. Good for the digestion and your livebearers should love it.
Broad beans are good too, treated the same way. And the soft parts of broccoli.
Some fish like lettuce or spinach, lightly cooked to make them less hard and chewy. Plecs like cucumber, again lightly blanched (cooked).
As long as your Mum does not cook her veg with salt or spices, you can always help yourself to leftovers from the dinner table, that's what I do (except I AM Mum, so I inflict broccoli and spinach on my family whenever I feel my fish need a treat :hey: ).

I feed mine brocolli and cucumber, some people weigh them down other people put them in very hot water first then let them cool down and pop them in. If you search on this forum for "vegatables" you will find quite a few threads on it :)

ok ta everyone
its just a change thn flake food everyday and bloodworm occasionaly

i may try

Yeah, there's no harm in trying but don't forget you will have to take it out of the tank before it breaks down in your tank.

Kris :)

oh ok yes i would
i may try it tomoz
dwafs what fish is that in ur sig

i regualy feed my corys cucumber- i poke it out of small holes in driftwood.
they love hunting down the vegatable and eating it.
i thouroughly recommend feeding your fish some veg every now and then. :)

Dont forget that not all fish will eat vegetables, most tetras are carnivors which eat small insects, insect larvae and the fry of other fish as their staple diet and have no want nor need for vegetables, the same goes for most species of catfish so only your livebearers and flying fox are likely to eat any vegetable fare you offer them.

boss innit
if i get a fly can i stick that on the top so they eat it
