I'm sure some of you remember be from a while back but for those who may not I will give you a brief of what happened with my first attempt.

Several months ago I bought a 60ltr cube tropical fish tank. From the first day everything went wrong, I bought over 30 fish over the few months I had it and all died at one stage or another! I was stuck with white spot and several other disasters. I sold-up and decided to move on after wasting £200+.

Basically, I would like to try again. This time I would like to buy a bow front corner tank, at least 100ltr. If I do buy one it will be second hand and already established so I will be able to add fish straight away.
I would like to keep some nice colourful community fish, I will definitely have male guppies and some mollies. Can anyone suggest some nice fish that would go well together?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated as I do not want to mess up a second time!

Swordtails!! Swordtails are awesome!

And some advice: Most LFS do free Water Testing, double check your water before throwing fish in it just in case.

My LFS is awful, I think if I do buy anymore fish for it they will definitely be from specialists or home bred!
I will have a look at swordtails:)

Bolivian rams are a wonderful fish, and are much more hardy than their cousin the german blue ram. They're pretty tolerant of other fish, so they shouldn't be a problem in a community tank. Cory catfish are completely peaceful and are bottom dwellers/feeders, however they're not that colorful. They're really funny to watch though, so I think you should at least consider them.

There doesn't seem to be much variety with freshwater tropicals, well not that I have seen anyway.

I have another question.
I would like to have a sand bottom tank, could this be a problem with bottom dwellers with sensitive unders?
This may be a stupid question and I apologies lol but will snails clean the bottom of the tank up?(Poop too) I have read that zebra snails do a pretty good job of this and again will they do ok with sand?

If you want a bottom dweller that is fine with sand, corys *love* it. They will clean the sand all the way through, and will have a fun time with it. I have corys and snails which both clean the tank somewhat, so I can't really answer that question =(
