I'm probably just being impatient but I'm a little suspicious because she's been with a male for three months now, her other female tank mates have been dropping every month since then and I'm expecting another batch in a couple of weeks. Also she has a bent spine (I thought she might be an inbreed), could this deformity have an effect?

Well most guppies have some inbreeding. But do you know the age of the guppy? Sometimes when guppies get old their spines get morphed and can get crooked.  She might be too old and keep aborting her babies or maybe something isn't right in the tank.  Sometimes male guppies wont go for a female.  How many males and females do you have?

yup, she is spent..

I've got one male and 3 females. Unfortunately I don't know how old she is, sounds like old age might be the cause although the male does chase her around as much as the other females

it's been my experience that old females end up looking like the pic that you posted..

I would say she is just old.  If the male is still breeding with her but she wont conceive then she is probably old. She should be fine, just no babies.  If she struggles really bad with swimming and can't get to the top and eat, then put her down. But they usually die on their own with no real problems
