just set my 39gallon malawi tank up, i havent bin able to buy rocks yet, so the tank is quite bare atm, it only has ( i think ) crushed coral as substrate, not sure though  .
anyway, i wanted to go for a range of different malawi's, ive been thinking, heres what i came up with :) ....

2x Labidochromis caeruleus, male, female
3x Pseudotropheus saulosi, 2 female 1 male
1x Pseudotropheus kingsizei
1x Labidochromis perlmutt
2x rusties male , female

so what do you think about that, will it work? or is it totally wrong, im still learning about malawi's :/

can you help me out?

how many more labs and rusties?

add another 2 labs and another rustie? or more labs?

I'd do 1m 3f on the labs and rusties. Then maybe the salousi or one of the others.

you should aim for 3 species of 4 with 1m-3f ratio or go for an all male tank which can be hard work aggression wise but a stunning end result.

ok thanks :D
i have 3 questions :p

should i buy a few fish at a time and add more fish later on, or buy as many fish as i can afford?

do you know anywhere online that sell these types of mbuna?

if so can you plz post the link? :p

thanks again :good:

Q1. If your tank is matured fully then add them all at once if not then within a couple of weeks.

Q2. I can only recommend 1 mail order because i have only used 1 which is african aquatic but they are wild caught adults which are expensive. I can recommend maidenhead aquatics it hereford for a shop which is worth atrip

Q3. african aquatic
