I have a 4ft planted tank with a Black Ghost Knife, Parrot Cichlid and a few cories.

Would Firemouths work in this setup? All fish are young *Parrot 1" Knife 3" Cories Fully Grown*

My LFS has some in that are 2" odd, 1st time I've ever saw them

They will be fine with your corys and parrot, not too sure about the black ghost. Before you get them make sure they are sexed properly. My LFS told me that my 2 were male & female, they were wrong and now I only have 1.

I would just go for one. Much more likely to work in your setup as you will not get any aggresion from a potential breeding pair.

How quick do these guys grow?

If 1 is the best option though then 1 it is :)

Would an actual pair be happy in a 3ft? I have one which i use for my Betta breeding but getting 2 2fts for that anyway

Depending on diet and conditions, they can grow to full size within 6 to 9 months. 3ft would be fine for a breeding pair.

Thats good then i will get 4 see how it goes :) my partner has a 3ft too so if i did end up with 2 pairs or 1 i can't rehome he'd take it

Thats good then. Try and get some wild caught or f1 if you can as the colours are normally more vibrant if you want to breed them.

These at my LFS are lovely and bright which is why i was drawn to them. 4 sound ok then? Or would i be best with 5. Always here your best with odd numbers

4 it is then :) i know i can house 4 no problem.

Thanks for your helo guys. Not very often i venture away from the betta section lol

Should be in here more once i got them and my Angels :D
