I don't wish to hijack another thread, so I'm asking here instead. ( Sorry to hear about the red gourami )
I want to put pearl gouramies in my new 50g tank. I have given up on the idea of Angels as tankmates, but had been very much considering a shoal of congo tetras instead - particularly as I've read in quite a few places that they are pretty peaceful ( unless you have the misfortume to be a very small neon in there with them) . Was it out of character for the congos to bully the red gourami? Are they just too big and racy for such demure souls as the pearls? I've seen them ( pearls and congos) in together IRL in a large tank that has been set up for several months and they *seemed* to be fine - was that just unusual good luck, or reasonably typical?
Thank you for any opinions
