Here are the pieces I am not sure what kind they are I do know that one is pine because I cut it so that one would probably not be good.

I am pretty sure that this one is pine so therefore is a softwood and probably would not be the best thing to put into a tank.

Can you try to find some small pieces with lots of twigs sticking out?

I could try but then again you have to make sure that the wood is ok to put in an aquarium.
