Hi I have a Roma 240

currently in there i have....

8 c. julli
4 c. bronze
4 c. maete
10 prestilla tetra
8 congo tetra
1 sae
2 bristlenoses
2 Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid (1m 1f)
2 blue rams (both males I think!)

oh and i think I may have a talking catfish in there...I bought one about two months ago and have seen him twice so think he's still alive but he may not be my tank has too many hiding places...

so I'd saw some great keyhole cichlids in the lfs...would i be able to fit a pair in or do you think i'm already getting a bit over stocked on the bottom of the tank?

Thanks in advance for any advice :good:

FCS you appear to be getting. Fish Collectivitus Syndrome :p Haha

I personally wouldnt as you already have "centre" type fish in the rams and dwarf cichlids, adding more cichlids into this and you may have issues. On the flip side you have quite a big tank so it might work. In my opinion less is more, too many groups of different fish in low numbers irritates me i find, whereas i have my breeding cichlids (jack dempseys) in my tank, with one type of shoaling fish (boesemani rainbows) and a plec + blue lobster. When i started the hobby i came back from a LFS every few weeks with new fish and it got to much.

Whatever you decide think it through first :)

LOL I think you could be right :) can't help myself!!

For pure fish mass, I think your tank could take it, with adequate filtration.

However, you could well start to have problems with your other cichlids. What if they all spawn at once ??

Also, as you say, you are quite heavily stocked with bottom zone fish, and keyholes are more of the same.

what about a single sev any good??

what about a single sev any good??

A 240 litre is really pushing the limits even for a single sev on it's own. Personally, I would not want to put a sev (long term) into anything less than a 300 litre. They get BIG !
It would also, almost certainly, eat all your pristella tetra once it got to a certain size.
So wouldn't recommend it.

Glenbo's suggestion of an angel fish or Festive cichlid is good. They are a good size, but don't get as big as sevs. They also are more upper water swimmers.
