Eat snail eggs? I'm not really familiar with snails, or the such (I just know I've always had them without asking lol). I have a yellow snail in my 5 gallon betta tank, and she's been laying eggs like crazy. First I thought the ghost shrimp were just taking care of them, but I noticed Eptun would have a big belly when he didn't eat anything (EEK! Dropsy scare!!!). But after not feeding for a few days, his stomach went to normal size. The only thing I can think of is that he's eating snail eggs. Could this be the cause or is there something else? (he's not eating the ghost shrimp...everyone is accounted for

baby snails get eaten by our juvenile bettas all the time ;) the other day i saw the funniest thing, an empty snail shell had a new occupant; a mini betta (one of the runts of the spawn) with just his head showing ;)

I used to have a huge snail population in my 5 gallon and then when I got the big bad betta, I had none!!! YAY!!!
