Worst Injury Caused By Fish

no injuries by fish bites but years ago i had a 4 foot tank with goldies in it & sitting there 1 night getting plesently p*ssed with my m8 & her hubby we noticed that 1 of them had died so i jumped up at the same time as her & caught my finger on the glass covers which was a bit sharp, anyway it managed to slice my finger open from the middle knuckle to the side of my finger. didn't know at the time but her hubby said he could see my knuckle  i had of course passed out at this point. finger still has no feeling along the scar even now & that have been 10 years ago. didn't go hospital cos i don't like needles lol

Not exactly a fish injury more my own fault - I was feeding bloodworm into the tank & one of my gouramis went for a worm, didn't exactly nip me but I got a fright and whacked my hand off the lid  felt a right muppet!

Oh and one of my bala sharks (called Dick funnily enough) nearly blinded me. I was cleaning the tank & he jumped out & sconed me in the right eye, there was water all over the floor coz I kicked the bucket over and to put it politely I was shouting blue murder(!) My eye healed pretty quickly coz it was just a scratch but Dick died about a month later...somehow he'd gotten out the tank during the night and I saw him on the floor in the morning just before one of my dogs, Neo ate him   - he had the runs later on in the day - served him right!

A parrott cichlid bit my arm and drew blood! Ok it was only a tiny spot but still!

i was bit by a common snakehead at a aqua zoo in st lawrenece river.i know the owners and was doing a little maintainance.i have a scars on my left hand and bled like a son of a b......

When adding gravel to my tank and flatting it out my algae eater stung me on the fingertip, but i thought it was just a sharp piece of gravel till bout minute later started to feel dizzy and a realy sharp pain on my fingertip

After a couple of minutes later felt ok but couldn't stop the bleeding and the tip of my finger was throbbing and could hardly touch it

It was like this for weeks (felt like someone was force a needle into my finger :shout:) till I finally took nail clipper to my fingertip and start cutting away :shout: :shout: :shout:

Finally manage to dislodge the thorne and had a look at it (it was shape like a fishing hook), it was so small cos my algae eater was on bout 6months old, then again couldn't stop the blood

I know I should have removed him from the tank but was so quick I couldn't catch him

It didn't happen to me, but a guy I work with (I work at an LFS) was pulling plants out of the plant tank for a customer. Earlier that week, someone had dropped of their lungfish, and it had been placed in the plant tank for lack of a better place to put it. So the guy was digging around in the tank and the lungfish swallowed his thumb  it surprised him and he pulled his hand out of the water, with the fish hanging by his thumb... it was priceless!

Stung by a fuzzy dwarf lion, stung like mad, hand in a hot bowl of water and self medicating with Budweiser made the difference :)
