I have had my male betta Black Beard for close to a year now. I moved up to college and took my buddy with me which he was fine and dandy with. Then a few weeks ago I noticed he wasn't eating as much food as usual. I didn't think anything of it.
I came back from college on Friday, so six days ago, and he has maybe eaten four bites of food since he has gotten here. I thought his bowl was too cold, so I went and bought a heater and decided to get him a new home, a 2.5 gallon tank. I put the heater in and the water is nice and warm. But he still is not eating. He just floats at the top of the tank near the sides of the tank. But is I get near him of go to check on him he goes CRAZY!!! He darts around the tank running into anything.
He used to at least know the food was there, check it out and then swim away, but now even if I put it right in front of him and doesn't aknowledge anything. Is it possible he's just getting used to his new surroundings?
Please help me, I love him dearly.
