Worried About Prego Platy!

Hello again.

My pregnant platy should be giving birth soon, so I thought, yesterday I found out that she started giving birth the day I got her. She is still really squared off, and acting anti-social, and all that, but after a few minutes of acting like she's about to drop she swims over and starts hanging out with the other platys again! Is there something wrong with her? Or am I just being paranoid, and freaking out for no reason?

I am sure she is fine! I have had platy's for a couple of years now and all sounds well. Goodluck for the new arrivals

Thanks. I think I'm just panicking because it's going to be my first batch of baby livebearers! I have two other pregnant females, too, so I'm going to have lots of babies soon!

mine gives birth and then stays sqaure and big for a few days. then the stomach size goes down after a while. some fish do this. others loose the stomach size as they give birth. so i wouldn't worry. there may still be more to come!!

Thanks! Unless 8 platys, 3 guppies, and a Pleco can eat a whole batch in a few hours then she should be having more, the former owner only found one the day after I got them. I'm hoping for a few at least!

Okay. Well the tank they are currently in is going to be my Quarantine/Fry tank when I get them moved into my 55 Gallon. Unfortunately the person who was supposed to bring me the tank today forgot it. So I'm going to have to wait a little longer.
