I had a ton of Guppys that i gave to a pal before xmas & hes been telling me some of them have worms, Hes had unexplained deaths & had no idea until he saw flicking & bloated belly in a female.
Now these were in my tanks for a short time so should i be concerned & worm my fish?
I do have wormer to hand so its not a huge problem

Any signs of worms? (Bloated fish, long stringy poop, etc.)

I have not really noticed anything, Maybe bloating in Guppy females but they eat like pigs, No other signs really. Although i was treating for Ich a few weeks ago so unsure if the 2 are combined

Most common livebearers (guppies, platies, swordtails & mollies) have intestinal worms. If they were in your tank for any time, then you probably have worms in your tank. I would deworm yours and your friend's tank.

Thanks Colin, My friend is doing his tank, he has a camera lens & said hes seen lots on the substrate.
I just wasnt sure if to do a med that was not required. Dont suppose it will do any harm

I dont often photograph a fishes butt......This is 1 i managed to get of some poop & something else hanging out.
Is this wormy poop?

Well i decided to deworm the tanks with NT Labs Anti Fluke & Wormer & ive never seen the fish poop so much. Ive up'ed the feeding a little to try & get them to rid the worms faster.
How long should i leave them before doing a substrate clean & water change?

I put her in a jug with fresh water as soon as i realised but think its too late, Shes not sticking to anything & the foot has gone very dark, Will leave her overnight & see if shes moved

Well after a few hours in fresh dechlorinated water, no difference im pretty sure shes gone now. Im only writing this just for reference really but anybody reading, Dont use the Dewormer without removing Snails.
Yes it does say on the box "Will kill Snails" but i thought i had got them all out before meds
