Well, after research and posting on the forum.
I purchased my lighting system.
Ready??....??.....??..?.?..? :fun:
(this amount of excitement is just too weird)

Ok, I bought a 48" compact fluoresent and lunar blue-moon-glow LED light fixture.

2 65 watt True Actinic #3 blue and 2 65 watt 10k daylight - 260watts total.

BONUS!!! Acrylic lens cover and legs...it stands about 2" above my tank

DOUBLE BONUS!!! 4 Lunar Blue-Moon -Glow LED lamps.

it has 3 switches to work each lighting type, an cooling fans

all this for 3bills.

Oh, i'm so stoked, my tank looks great ! The fish are starting to get used to the bright light.

Thats the update

Pets Inc.
The set up is nice. There were sooooo many choices and the reef mags were speaking greek..lol

This set up was all in one, easy to maintain, not too much heat comming off due to the interior fans. The lunar LED's sealed the deal.

I've been reading about others on the forum rigging up their own, it looked way to complicated for a novice.

the brand is coralife

i just added some polyps and the tank is B E A U T I F U L.

Pets Inc huh? I've never checked out their lighting section, guess I'll have to do that. Was it decently priced? I just spent $130 there yesterday on my trigger, flame angel, leather mushroom and some snails and crabs, i may just have to give them more of my money now lol :S

I looked up pets inc. on the web, hoping they had an interactive site for ordering supplies online....no luck....
just like J-Money said, a LFS in Tempe, Az.
:(

I'm working on posting pics on the web so i can attach images.
something else to learn :S

ha!!!
I did it!
Thanks to 150m.com :D

all I see is a little red "x"... -_- apparently i'm missing something...

i use photo bucket at the moment and its very easy to use.
Im afraid i cannot see any of the posted photos Kim, perhaps your links are not correct. :*)

I see a tank with a blue background a little bit of LR (think it could handle about 3 times as much as its got) and a saddle back angle (I think) and a few chromis, water looks clear, good deal.

I've got 50lbs now, I want to make sure I have enough swimming area for the fish. I have a Majestic Angel, 3 chromis, 2 false clowns and 2 anthia's,...i am cautious on stocking. If i add 10lbs more LR, do you think I could sqeeze in another fish???

What about water flow? I am concerned that more lr will create barriers and inhibit the flow of water in the tank. Blocking my intake on the filters.

Any advice is appreciated.

for me, I am always a little cautious on stocking.
so if it was me, I would'nt add any more than what you have in there now.
what do you have for water movement now? if you position the rocks and
powerheads the right way, you should be able to get the proper flow+
circulation.

Water movement,
first, i have 2 - 280Emperor bio filters. These guys create a lot of movement in the tank.
second, i have a 228 power sweep.

i've got it positioned in the side of my tank pointing across the length.

thats it. I can see the tenticles of my polyps moving with the motion of the water.

when i get in more LR, i'll ask for advice on positioning of my power sweep.

Hey, i don't mind asking for help.....my lfs guy told me the best area to place the one i bought.

experience is good, something i'm short of ;)
