I have a want ad for unusual bettas, like albinos or ones with 4 ventrals, on Aquabid. I got my first reply to that ad via email the other day...

hi sir.. i have albino CT do you interested...? i ll get the pic asap...

I'm a little skeptical of course, but hell yes I'm interested. Today I get this reply:

Hi sam

The fish is lil bit stressed
i bring the fish home from my farm just now and then photo it...

Bout the price I really don't know how much I must sell him But please let
me know how much you can afford for this fish

Holy crap y'all!!!! :hyper:
I've made an offer, expecting a reply in the wee hours of the morning tomorrow. I may finally get my albino! :D

That's Great Synirr I Should Put Up A Want Ad Too Huh LOl Good Luck With That And I LOVE Your Chi Too Cute! Do You Have any babys up for sale?? :)

Oh I did, I'm not paying $200 like Wasan wanted for his albino (lordy, what was he thinking ), but I think my offer was reasonable, especially considering the health problems associated with albinos. Wasan wants $150 each for his giants though, so $200 really isn't ghastly as far as Wasan's prices go I guess. (I think it was Wasan anyway)

A price has been agreed upon (not one I'm real happy with, but about what I'd expect to pay :X), but I said I'm only agreeing to it assuming it'll be guaranteed live arrival, so as soon as he agrees to that we're good to go, and he has a shipment to the US in 3 days :good:

Bought and paid for (OOOOW, my wallet! :-( )
fishkiller_nomore -- He's a commercial breeder I would assume, his house and his fish farm aren't in the same place. He's in Indonesia. Probably has a setup similar to Atison's with big growout tubs and whatnot. The seller is Fantasy_aquatic, he sells on Aquabid all the time and ships to the US all the time, Linda has experience with him so I'm sure he has a license :p. He's shipping through Linda and guaranteed live arrival.

I've asked him if this is the first time he has gotten an albino, how long he has been breeding, and what colour line the albino came out of :). I sure hope he's not sterile... that'd be just my luck. Even so, I guess I still get bragging rights, haha.

Oh my freaking god!!! that's awesome :D congratulations... now if only you could find a way of shipping any fry you may have to the UK *Evil Smuggling Scheme Being Thought Of*
Hehe

Wowza :shout: This will be really interesting, from a 'OMG what a cool betta!' side, and from the genetics side. Let's hope he can be a daddy :good:

You're just getting new fish every five seconds huh! Nice find, a bit rich for my blood, but neat. You will have bragging rights.

:good:

Yeah, I hope I can manage to squeeze some fry out of him, lol. He's from a marble and a copper marble says the seller, and the first albino he has encountered, but he has only been breeding bettas for a year (he's into arowana mostly, judging from his website).

Amazing find--looks like a new species of cave-dwelling betta??? :D
I wonder if they are light-sensitive as albinos of most species are...It would be a most interesting fish to keep. Go for it.

Yes, from what I've heard they are light-sensitive. I'll not be keeping a light on in his tank -_-

You should see if he'll sell the mom, or a spawn sis. Just in case you can breed those may be your best bet for some albino babies :D
