sorry i know this has been asked loads of times but
i found some wood and i know you have to leave it for a sertant amount of time before it can go in the tank but this one all the bark has fallen of so will it be ok?

me personnally i would let it soak for 24 hours then put some boiling water over it to get rid of any mites or germs

yh i was ging to i just wanted to cheack it was ok to put in.

I would leave it out to be sure thats it fully dried first for about six weeks. What type of wood is i?

it was deffently dry when i got it and i dont know.

Only hard wood is safe for aquarium use soft wood will just rot too quickly. Try and press your thumb nail in and if it just sinks in its soft wood if its too solid for you to leave an imprint its hard wood. Though I would be tempted to leave it a while as it needs to leach all its impurities out and best do that in a bucket than your tank with your fish in.

ok ill try tomorrow and yh i was going to soak it for a couple of weeks and then boil it.

When I put the wood in my tank I boiled it for 2 hours, then soaked it for about 3 weeks till it stopped leaking tannins.
