So Derek has a 10 gallon to himself and his snails, until I saw some female bettas.
So I was wondering if I could put a divider in the tank and put females on one side and Derek in the other?
Would you recommend that they be able to see each other?
And what divider would you recommend?
Thanks in Advance

You could put in a tank divider and get 1 female, but not a sorority of them, which imo needs at least 15 gallons, but definitely more than 5. It's less stressful on the fish to have a divider that provides as little ability to see the other betta as possible.

Imo you should just let derek have his space and get some small schooling fish like rasboras or glowlight or neon tetras or something.

I agree with onidrase. There's not really room for a sorority, but you could get a divider and one female.

Thanks guys,
I think ill get some neon tetras or something

Imo neons are a little too much for 10 us gals with a betta - I'd go for smaller fish such as microrasbora, male endlers or ember tetras. If you wanted more 'neon' type fish, green neons are similar to 'regular' neons and would probably work too. Pygmy cories would also be fine but are more bottom-middle dwelling and less colourful than the other suggestions :good:

If you decide to divide your tank, use a non-transparent divider. There is no reason to cause too much stress on the male by making him flare at the females constantly.
