Will Sailfin & Dalmation Mollies breed?

If so what do you get?

I saw a beautiful male silver sail fin molly last Saturday, and I nearly bought him but I have a female Dalmation Molly, so I didn't just in case he chased her to death.

they will breed. not sure exactly what you would get from it though :)

I was pretty sure they would and I'm glad I didn't buy him but I'm still curious about what you'd get if they did breed.

Their is rearly 2 types of mollies the sail fin and athe shore fin, they are infact 2 different species of fish although very closely related and will cross breed but less often then being just the same species but different colour form's.

they looked wired i would of throught it would have orange
Color will depend on the coloring of the parents. In this case, Jozlyn was talking about a silver Sailfin and a Dalmation, so if they did interbreed the coloring would most likely be some mix of white and black. If one of the parents had sunset coloring, on the other hand, then the fry would likely have orange. :)

Well my local fish shop said sailfin mollies and normal mollies wouldent breed. But im sure they would given the right condistions. If they do post some pictures!

im sure its possible, didnt someone manage to breed guppies and mollies? so im sure u can breed sailfins and dalmations

im sure that they did breeed. because i have a dalmation molly and safin. and i think my dalmation breeded my safin one,

Like i said above their two different species of mollies, Poecilia Latipinna and P. velifera (true sailfin molly).

And yes like guppies (P.reticulata) they do cross but rarely. They would cross more easily as mollies are closer related.
