Hi everyone,

I have a 10-gallon tank with a female betta. I had put a "tankmate" of a small 1" platy in with her. For the first four days the betta chased the Platy around but no harm was done.

Today, I came home to find my that the Platy had beat up and battered my betta. I took the platy out and want to put her in with my guppies (she's acclimating in a bag right now).

Problem is one of the guppies is a .5" fry. Will the platy attempt to eat the baby guppy?

No the platy will not try to eat a half inch fry.

all livebearers will eat fry upto about 5-7 days old after then they should of grown enough to no longer be eaten.

Never trust these betta's, best to not mix then with livebearers

Okay, all seems fine. The platy hasn't gone after the guppy. I fed them a big breakfast to be sure they're "full." Now I have to syphon all the left over stuff!

I've read so many contridictory things about guppies and bettas. Possibly getting a few pygmies for her may be the best bet?
