Will New Plants Affect Water Quality

Hello, finished setting up my tank and it has cycled.
I've bought some plants today and am going to put 3 pearl Gourami in tomorrow, will the plants affect the water quality for when I put the fish in?

If they take ok and start growing, they'll improve it, in the long run

Just keep an eye on them to start with.New plants often take time to adjust to your water conditions.Depending on what they are, they may shed some leaves and then start regrowing new ones.
Remove dying ones as they could give you an ammonia spike. Ammonia + light= algae
wash the plants under the tap, before adding (snails)

OK... thanks so they wont really affect the tank just as long as i take the dead plat leaves out!!
